Frequently asked questions

Narration or creature sound is silent

Raise the media volume and check that audio is not being sent to headphones, a Bluetooth device, or another output. Browser narration uses voices installed on your device, so voice quality and availability may vary by operating system.

Saved items, progress, or language were reset

In the initial release, favourites, viewed items, and language preferences are stored only on your device. They are not synced and will not migrate automatically after uninstalling the app, clearing site data, or changing devices.

Images, text, audio, or video do not load

Close and reopen the app or refresh the webpage. If the issue continues, record the affected creature, device model, operating-system version, app or browser version, language, and the steps that reproduce the issue.

Are the creatures presented as historical or scientific fact?

No. Public-domain source text, modern explanation, and original artistic reconstruction are clearly separated. Colours, movement, ecology, sound, and other details absent from the text are identified as inference. Read the research and rights method.

Does the initial release require an account?

No account or sign-in is planned for the initial release. It is also planned without advertising, cross-app tracking, or third-party analytics SDKs. See the privacy policy for the current disclosure.
